BITS and PIECES THREE...

In the mad rush to destroy all that was sacred in the Church, one of the primary goals has been to remove the tabernacle, that presence of Christ, from the sanctuary to a side chapel. They are doing this so that the place may no longer be the house of God but the place of “joyful” experiences, so that the presence of God will, at last, no longer haunt us. In the Garden, we fled from the Lord, ashamed to see His face in our state of rebellion. Now we would drive Him out, bar the gates against Him, so that we may feel no shame.

Belizeans and Americans are caught between two false principles about property. If we emphasize the rights of ownership, the result is some form of capitalism that destroys citizenship and invites both revolution and dictatorship, but, if we emphasize redistribution of land through laws, in contempt of private property, the result is a Marxist state that enslaves all the people for the benefit of a party bureaucracy. And between those two poles – exploitative capitalism and oppressive Marxism – most political business in the world is carried on, with never a glance at the agrarian principle that is the only viable third way.

If the Agrarians were right, then a free people must be predominantly a farming people – or at least, in more abstract economic forms, a people who own the means of production, as the master carpenter owns his own tools.

The truth is that free people mind their own business and establish those permanent things that create order and sustain liberty – faith, family, tradition, community, private property, loyalty, courage, and honor. Without democratically determined values have fully replaced religious morals, a nation becomes just another bankrupt and crumbling heap of dust!

The traditional family is being attacked with an unconventional weapon: children’s story books. As books promoting a pro-homosexual ideology have slipped into public elementary-school libraries. Unsuspecting children as young as age four have been exposed to immoral themes and content. An example would be the book “King and King”. This book, written by Dutch authors Linda de Haan and stern nijland (Tricycle Press, 2002) is advertised for children as young as age six. The publisher’s summary of the book states “When the queen insists that the prince get married and take over as king, the search for a suitable mate does not turn out as expected.” The true nature of this book lies in the fairy tale’s conclusion – a “very special” wedding and the marriage of Prince Bertie and Prince Lee. The final page of the book illustrates the two princes kissing with a red heart covering their lips. A review of the book by School Library Journal admits, “The book does present same-sex marriage as a viable, acceptable way of life.”

Since books are often ordered “en masse” based on lists of award-winning books, vague publisher or catalog descriptions, or reviews offered by journals focusing on “literary merit” rather than content or moral appropriateness, it is no wonder offensive material has leaked into elementary-school libraries.
