ETHANOL
Today I want to tell you about an opportunity
that I think has the potential to make Belize an incredible
amount of money!!!
President Bush has reaffirmed his commitment
to pursuing production of alternative renewable energy sources
- and of those, ethanol is perhaps the most viable.
Ethanol is produced as a byproduct of corn
and sugar, and in my opinion it will underpin the price of
corn and sugar over the coming years. The rising cost of fertilizer
has discouraged farmers from planting corn. Instead they are
using their land to cultivate cheaper crop products.
What's more, the drive toward ethanol use
will only hurt the volume available for domestic use and export.
Plus, we have discovered that China is now consuming more of
its own corn crop and exporting less than ever before! In the
first quarter alone, Chinese corn exports slumped 30%!
In a recent Bloomberg story, Robert Greer,
product manager for the PIMCO Commodity Real Return Strategy
Fund, said, "Keep your eye on energy produced from grains
and sugar. The U.S. now produces 40% of the world's corn -
and 14% of that is going into ethanol. America is the Saudi
Arabia of corn." Why can’t Belize get in on
this with its corn and sugar products???
